The Family Placement Team also provides out-of-hours telephone support (see Out of Hours Support for Foster Carers and the Children They Look After) from 6pm to 11pm Monday to Friday and 12 noon to 9pm at weekends, excluding Bank holidays.

Carers are also able to contact the Emergency Duty Team for advice, support and guidance when the office is closed. 

The Emergency Duty Service (EDS) is available for out of hours social care emergencies at these times:

• Monday to Friday: 5pm to 9am;
• Weekends: Friday 5pm to Monday 9am;
• Bank Holidays: service runs continually until 9am on the next working day.
